1- The Cost
Qatar has spent more than $200 billion to prepare. That’s the most any host country has ever spent. It built hotels, highways, and seven new stadiums.
2- The Timing
Typically, the World Cup takes place in the summer. But in Qatar, summer can get really hot (up to 120°F!). So the games were moved to the fall.
3- The Temperature
Daytime highs in Qatar can still reach almost 90°F in November. To keep fans cool, stadiums will be fully air-conditioned.
